Culinary Manager/Smithville Culinary Team Leader

The Sayre Hospitality Group, Inc., and its family of companies, is excited to announce our search for a Culinary Manager, who will work as a culinary leader for our brand, Village Catering.

Responsibilities include:

  • Understanding and applying all food and health safety standards
  • Coordinating and supervising the culinary and kitchen staffs according to food and health safety standards
  • Leading the kitchen staff in the preparation of various foods, menu items and special dishes
  • Adhering to company recipes
  • Performing quality control processes 
  • Maintaining adequate food and supplies inventory to keep up with demand
  • Ensuring all culinary and kitchen teams maintain clean and organized kitchens and holding all kitchen team members to the high level of cleanliness & organization expected in a Sayre Hospitality Group, Inc., kitchen
  • Addressing concerns expressed by kitchen staff
  • Elevating serious concerns to Upper Management and/or Human Resources
  • Tracking kitchen finances to identity areas of potential savings and waste
  • Managing flow of culinary job files by reviewing and assigning culinary job files and delegating culinary responsibilities as needed.

Requirements include:

  • Restaurant experience is expected, although formal training/education is not required
  • Team player
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Ability to effectively train new employees and administer performance evaluations to each kitchen team member
  • Ability to work in high pressure situations while setting the example for kitchen team members
  • Creating an inviting, welcoming and pleasant kitchen work environment for team members
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Conflict resolution skills
