Jarrett Finch

Jarrett joined the SHG family in January of 2022 as the financial analyst. Prior to graduating from Ashland University in December of 2019 with a bachelor’s of science in actuarial science and mathematics and a minor in finance, Jarrett worked as an administrative assistant for Ports Petroleum Co., Inc.

His plans after graduation were to complete the financial advisor training program offered by Merrill Lynch – which he was accepted into. However, COVID was in full swing at this time, which delayed enrollment into the financial program. Wanting to quickly join the work force, Jarrett accepted a position at Buckeye Corrugated, Inc., in Wooster, as an Ink Technician/Tooling Coordinator. About two years into the position, he was called in by his childhood best friend (and now Business Manager) Logan Meier, to help Village Catering cater some larger events. At first it was additional pocket money and a reason to catch up with a buddy; but not too long into it, Jarrett was infatuated by the work behind the scenes. There was logistics and reason behind each detail in service that he simply wanted to be a part of. Working alongside Logan and President/Owner Brian Sayre seemed like a natural fit. After the catering season ended, in December of 2021, Jarrett was invited to join SHG full time to study and track financial data to increase efficiencies and reduce costs across company entities.

An Eagle Scout, Jarrett grew up visiting extended family in Maryland where he had the opportunity to enjoy fishing, crabbing, clamming and other waterfront activities. He remembers fondly the time he caught a seahorse while clamming – an experience he still finds heartwarming to this date. He enjoys trying new cocktails and going to local breweries/distilleries. He’s often thought of starting his own distillery one day.

Jarrett and Emily, his wife of almost three years, currently live in Wooster with their goldendoodle, Ruby. They recently purchased land in Smithville and look forward to someday building their dreamhouse and living closer to work. Jarrett enjoys reading, but prefers a bowl of popcorn and a good movie. His family thinks he’s too competitive, but his ideal night would be with his friends and family playing boardgames. If he were to leave the house on a night off, he’d take everyone bowling (as he was a member of his high school bowling team that won Division II state runner-up) as it would assure victory.
