In July of 2024, the Sayre Hospitality Group welcomed the addition of Gio Hutchings as the Director of Outreach & Philanthropy. A 2023 graduate of Ashland University, Gio earned his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and enjoyed his minor studies in the fields of religion and political science. He was an Ashbrook Scholar and, in addition to his involvement with the Ashbrook Center, was a member of the Ashland University football team and an active participant in various student organizations. He returned for a fifth year of study as a student at Ashland University Theological Seminary as he started to reflect on his desired professional path.

After graduating from AU, he worked in the university’s admissions office as a representative where he discovered and honed an appreciation for customer service and hospitality. As he readied to further his professional career goals in the field of higher education, Gio switched lanes in his career path when he learned more about the mission and vision of Sayre Hospitality and the Sayre Foundation. He is excited to be a part of the Sayre Hospitality Group family of employees and is looking forward to directing corporate outreach on behalf of SHG while also leading the Sayre Foundation in its mission of funding God’s work through stewardship and service.

Originally from the Cleveland area, Gio makes his home in North Central Ohio and enjoys Bible studies with his friends. He is engaged to his high school sweetheart, Claire Horansky and they are planning a May 2025 wedding. They both enjoy watching sports, especially football on Sundays. Gio remarked, “My Sunday schedule in the fall is church, nap, then football!”
