VILLAGE CATERING OPERATIONS MANAGERS

Village Catering Company (VCC) is currently seeking highly motivated individuals to become members of our VCC Team as VCC Operations Managers. The VCC Ops Managers carry great responsibility in reflecting the vision and mission of Sayre Hospitality Group and Village Catering Company. The purpose of the VCC Operations Management team is to work collectively to meet the following goals:

  1. Bring a client’s vision to life.
  2. Provide excellent customer service.
  3. Avoid company & team financial/social/effectual risks/downfalls.
  4. Create and implement systems to streamline and improve operations
  5. Submit developed systems to continual evaluation for the purpose of improvement

 

Ultimately, the Operations Managers are responsible for the overall success of the Village Catering Company and the events the company hosts & services. To that end, this team of managers will lead, train, oversee & guide team members before, during, and after fully catered events to ensure team members are following guidelines, working efficiently, and providing clients with exceptional service. Our team of VCC OPS Managers is responsible for “steering the ship” behind the scenes of Village Catering.

The specific duties for each VCC Ops Manager will vary depending on the area of assignment provided to the individual person and will center around the following:

  1. Pre-event responsibilities – coordination/organization of all catering items needs for each job, coordination of setup at event venues, preparation of weekly catering binders for catering teams, etc.
  2. Post-event responsibilities – oversee the return of all catering equipment, provide weekly inventory of disposable catering products, manage cleanliness of Greystone service hallway, maintain prop room at Smithville, coordinate the transferring of clean equipment to appropriate locations
  3. Logistics – coordination of linen, China, flatware, prop, etc., deliveries, coordination of equipment rental/usage/return, assist with drop & go deliveries, coordination of company catering vans/rental trucks, helping with the return of cleaned catering equipment
  4. Event set-up/teardown – create and finalize floorplans for events at company venues, schedule setup teams to execute needed event setups/teardowns, manage all ballroom closets at Greystone & White Oak Event Centers, manage the storage rooms at Greystone

  • Ability to teach and mentor VCC staff & provide corrective actions and positive affirmation regarding productive job performance of staff.
  • Ability to build a positive work culture and morale among VCC team members.
  • Effective organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage projects with competing deadlines with strict timelines.

 

These are full-time, permanent positions with the Village Catering Company. Most of the work will be completed during a Tuesday – Saturday workweek, with flexibility to meet the demands of events that occur on Sundays and Mondays.

We offer competitive wages with the starting pay range for these positions set at $15 – $18/hour.
