Sales & Event Specialist

Village Catering Company is seeking a Sales & Event Specialist to join our Sales & Catering team! This full-time position is an exciting opportunity for an organized, personable, and proactive individual who enjoys working with people, building relationships, and helping bring events together from the initial inquiry through event completion.

The Sales & Event Specialist will support sales and event operations for weddings, corporate events, social events, tastings, and other special events. This role combines sales, customer service, event coordination, administrative responsibilities, and teamwork in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as a first point of contact for inquiries and provide professional, responsive customer service.
• Manage sales for wedding, corporate, and social events, including proposals, client communication, contracts, payments, and event details.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, venues, vendors, community organizations, and business partners.
• Support booster pizza sales and represent Village Catering Company at tastings, bridal shows, community events, and other promotional opportunities.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date CRM records, sales pipelines, client files, event documentation, and calendars.
• Prepare and finalize venue and event files, ensuring all required information is complete and communicated to the appropriate team members.
• Assist with individual and mega tastings, including preparation, client interaction, proposals, invoicing, follow-up, and CRM updates.
• Assist with event scheduling, preparation, setup, and day-of event operations as needed.
• Work closely with Sales, Operations, and Culinary teams to support successful event execution and a positive client experience.
• Maintain the showroom and assist with organization of event files and materials.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, communication, organization, and operational efficiency.
• Provide administrative and sales support to the Director of Catering & Rental Sales and sales team, along with other duties as needed.

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience in sales, customer service, hospitality, catering, event planning, or a related field preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Professional, personable, proactive, and solution-oriented.
• Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, email, and calendars, with a willingness to learn VCC’s CRM and other systems.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and extended hours as required by event schedules.
• Ability to travel locally to venues, tastings, bridal shows, and special events.
• Ability to work in office, catering, and event environments and perform the physical requirements associated with event work.

Position Details

Compensation: $38,000 – $42,000/year

This position is also eligible for a sales incentive program.

Schedule: Full-time, 40–50 hours per week; evening and weekend availability required
