Assistant General Manager – Lem’s Pizza

Position Overview

Lem’s Pizza is seeking a motivated and hands-on Assistant General Manager to support daily operations and help deliver the exceptional service and quality our guests have come to expect. This role is ideal for a strong team leader who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment and is ready to grow into higher-level management.

The Assistant General Manager will work closely with the General Manager to execute operational goals, develop team members, and uphold the standards and traditions of Lem’s Pizza, while supporting the broader vision of the Sayre Hospitality Group. This is a “working manager” role, requiring an active presence on the floor and in day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the General Manager in overseeing daily operations to ensure efficient, high-quality service
  • Act as the manager on duty in the absence of the General Manager
  • Lead by example through active, hands-on involvement in food and ice cream service
  • Supervise and coach team members, reinforcing service standards and fostering a positive team culture
  • Assist with training and onboarding of new employees in coordination with corporate HR
  • Monitor food quality, consistency, and presentation in collaboration with kitchen staff
  • Help manage scheduling, shift coverage, and labor efficiency
  • Assist in controlling costs, including labor, food, and inventory
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation standards
  • Support inventory management and ordering processes
  • Address customer feedback and resolve concerns promptly and professionally
  • Contribute to the execution of company initiatives, goals, and brand standards

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in hospitality, food service, or restaurant supervision required
  • Strong understanding of food service operations and customer experience standards
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with a team-first mindset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask, stay organized, and perform under pressure
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
  • A genuine passion for hospitality and preserving the legacy of Lem’s Pizza

Schedule & Work Environment

This is a full-time, in-person position with an expected workload of approximately 45–50 hours per week. The Assistant General Manager is expected to be an active, visible leader during peak business hours, with scheduling determined in collaboration with the General Manager.
