Job Summary
We are on the lookout for a passionate and experienced Culinary Manager to lead our culinary operations with enthusiasm and expertise. In this role, you will oversee all aspects of food production, kitchen management, and food service to ensure our guests enjoy outstanding culinary experiences for which Village Catering Company is known. The ideal candidate is a dynamic leader with a strong background in food preparation, recipe execution, catering, and culinary/kitchen management, who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to maintaining high standards of food safety and quality.

Duties

  • Lead and supervise culinary staff, including cooks, and kitchen assistants, fostering a collaborative and motivated team environment.
  • Ability to adapt to the work environment – some days you will work alongside the culinary team in our kitchen in Smithville and on other days you may work solo in our kitchen at Greystone Event Center.
  • Oversee culinary execution of client menus, ensuring offerings meet quality standards and cater to diverse dietary needs.
  • Manage food production processes, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation to uphold excellence in every dish served.
  • Coordinate catering events and services from the culinary perspective, ensuring timely delivery and exceptional presentation.
  • Maintain inventory control by monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste through effective inventory management practices.
  • Enforce strict adherence to food safety regulations and sanitation standards across all kitchen operations.
  • Oversee shift management, ensuring smooth daily operations while maintaining high customer satisfaction in both restaurant and food service settings.

Skills

  • Extensive experience in food industry roles such as restaurant management, catering, or banquet services.
  • Proven supervising experience with strong leadership skills to guide diverse culinary teams.
  • Knowledge of dietary department procedures and food handling safety protocols.
  • Skilled in food production, menu planning, and kitchen management including inventory control.
  • Experience in managing food service operations within hospitality environments or restaurants.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail during food preparation and service.
