EVENT BARTENDERS

The Sayre Hospitality Group is seeking new event bartenders to join our team. Our bartenders serve in their role at events held at our own venues (Greystone Event Center in Wooster, Waters Edge Event Center in Ashland, and White Oak Event Center in Orrville) as well as events held off-site at venues in the surrounding area. These events include wedding receptions, private parties (birthday, retirement, etc.), corporate events and holiday parties.

The responsibilities of our Event Bartenders include:

• Setting up bar service stations before scheduled event according to the bar package purchased by client (i.e.: preparing garnishes, stocking mixers, ice, glassware, etc.)
• Stocking bar with needed products according to client’s bar package selection
• Managing inventory behind the bar
• Welcoming customers at the bar & taking orders
• Verifying the age of customers by checking a state issued identification card (driver’s license, state identification card) or U.S. passport
• Providing knowledgeable and creative drink recommendations based on customers’ drink preferences
• Mixing & responsibly serving alcoholic drinks ordered by guests at events
• Maintaining a clean and orderly bar area (wiping down service & drink prep areas, washing glassware, etc.)
• Closing bar area at appropriate time, ensuring proper cleaning, storage, and return of all bar inventory, supplies, and equipment, proper management of all glassware and disposal of refuse in bar trash receptacles
• Accepting and processing payments using the provided POS system (if applicable)
• Ability to make correct change for cash transactions

All Event Bartenders MUST:

• Be 21 years of age at the time of application
• Complete & pass the State of Ohio ASK (Alcohol Server Knowledge) Course (within 30 days of hiring date)
• Have previous bartending experience in an establishment/with a company offering full bar service (beer, wine, seltzer, liquor); this includes the ability to properly prepare and serve a core group of alcoholic (mixed) drinks common in bar service
• Abide by the guidelines of SHG Bar Operations Program when assigned to bartend at an event

Job Details:

• Part-time on an, “as needed” basis
• Job sites vary according to event locations; SHG event center locations are as follows: Greystone Event Center, Wooster; Waters Edge Event Center, Ashland; White Oak Event Center, Orrville
• Hourly rate of pay plus tips
