Golden Bear – Assistant Manager (2 positions)
Overview
The Assistant Manager plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the
Golden Bear, a local favorite ice cream shoppe & grill. This full-time position is
responsible for overseeing daily activities, managing & leading staff, and
maintaining high standards of customer service. The ideal candidate will possess
strong leadership skills, excellent time management abilities, and a passion for
training and development. As assistant manager, you will be instrumental in
working cooperatively with the Golden Bear leadership team, leading team
members, driving sales, ensuring quality food preparation & presentation,
providing a clean workplace, and managing inventory while fostering a positive
work environment.
Responsibilities
• Oversee daily operations and ensure adherence to company policies and
procedures
• Manage cash register operations, including transactions and balancing at
the end of shifts
• Assist in training and developing staff to enhance their skills and
performance
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with inventory management to ensure
product availability
• Provide exceptional customer service while producing quality food and ice
cream menu items
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment that meets health and
safety standards
• Abide by all company standards and processes
• Work closely with the manager and another assistant manager to oversee
all operational responsibilities
Requirements
• Previous experience in a supervisory role is preferred
• Previous experience in food service strongly preferred
• Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively
• Proficiency in cash register operations and basic accounting principles
• Experience in training development to enhance team performance
• Available both opening and closing shifts, weekdays and weekends
• Ability to sell products effectively while providing outstanding customer
service
• Minimum of 18 years of age
*ServSafe Certified: Manager & Food Handler Classification (or eligible for certification)

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 – $22.00 per hour (based on education, related experience, etc.)
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
