Junipers Culinary Team Member

Job Overview
We are seeking experienced and dynamic culinary team members for Junipers Restaurant to lead our team in delivering exceptional dining experiences. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in casual dining and quick service environments, with a passion for hospitality and team development. As a member of the culinary team, you will oversee daily culinary operations, ensure high standards of food quality and service, and foster a positive work environment in the back of house that encourages growth and excellence.

Currently, Junipers Restaurant is open 3 days per week (Thursday, Friday, Saturday) from 4pm – 9pm, with the ability of clients to reserve the restaurant for private events on Sunday – Wednesday. The selected candidates will work about 60% of the work week at Junipers and 40% at the other food service establishments, including the Golden Bear, along with time spent on other related duties as assignment by upper management, Junipers Manager and the Director of Restaurant Operations.

Duties

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including food handling practices.
  • Develop and implement training programs for staff to enhance culinary service quality and culinary operational efficiency.
  • Oversee inventory management, and work with the Junipers Manager to create inventory orders weekly
  • Receive and respond to any culinary issues or feedback promptly.
  • Collaborate with kitchen management to ensure menu quality and consistency.
  • Foster a positive team environment through effective leadership and communication in the back of the house.
  • Provide in-person support for other food service establishments by working on-site with current managers at these sites, specifically, the Golden Bear in Apple Creek.

Skills

  • Proven experience in casual dining, catering, or banquet settings.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
  • Knowledge of food handling practices and health regulations.
  • Excellent culinary organizational skills with a focus on operational efficiency.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with staff and guests alike.
  • Experience in kitchen management or hospitality management is preferred.
